We just met our new foster care worker last week. She seems to have a great attitude and I'm excited to start working with her. I can't remember if I shared this already, but we just switched foster care agencies. It's something I never thought we'd do, but it was time. So, we're getting used to not only a new worker, but a new agency too.
Our family foster care worker is supposed to visit our home monthly - even if we don't have a foster child placed in our home. This meeting is also the time for me to ask questions about the process of transitioning a new child into our home and anything regarding our new foster care agency that I need to know.
So far I really like this new agency and the support we have been receiving. We have a difficult job as foster parents, so feeling supported in our efforts is important.
How does your agency stack up to the list of 11 Ways Your Foster Care Agency Can Maintain Foster Homes?
What would you add to the list? What's going great? What's not so great?
